Module 4: Competence, Parenting, and Learning at Home

Five young children reading a book together

In this module, parents and teachers focus on competence as a partnership principle, and parenting and learning at home as key involvement strategies.  Competence is introduced from the professional and parent perspectives as it relates to supporting students, and as it helps to support parenting and learning at home strategies.  During the group discussion, these topics are related to the lived experiences of parents and teachers at different district activities, and participants are given the opportunity to make suggestions for district improvement in these areas.
