The Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) partnered with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce to create a series of toolkits for adults who support multi-system youth.
“Providing treatment and education for Ohio’s Multi System Youth with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) presents a unique set of challenges to navigate. For youth with intensive and complex behavioral health needs residing in Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF), charting a course with timely coordination, consistent communication, and effective strategies is even more critical.”
These toolkits have many resources that parents can use to advocate for their child’s needs in school. This would be a great series to share with the educators in your child’s life. For example, there is a toolkit called “Understanding Behavior: A Framework for Intervention” that has a video called “Proactively Supporting Regulation.”
