Virtual Event: National Parent Literacy Advocacy Conference Aug. 2, 2026

Parents for Reading Justice (PFRJ) is hosting Literacy Now, the first-ever National Parent Literacy Advocacy Conference.

Date: Sunday, August 2, 2026
Time: 3-6 pm Eastern Time
Location: Virtual (Zoom)

This inaugural conference, which you can register for at no cost, will bring together parents, teachers, legislators, and community members from across the country for a powerful day of learning, connection, and action. Featured keynote speakers include Louisa Moats, Kareem Weaver and Steven Dykstra — three of the most respected voices in literacy today — alongside leading advocates and policymakers.

Two initiatives will launch at the conference:

– A Parent Professional Learning Community: a quarterly series connecting parents with experts on reading science, brain development, advocacy strategy, and literacy legislation.

– A National Parent Cohort: trained through Parents for Reading Justice’s Masterclass.
