Reducing absenteeism takes a partnership between home and school. In this brief guide, Proving Ground, an initiative of Harvard University, provides a tested postcard intervention targeted at reaching parents of early-grade students. The guide describes how to plan, create, and distribute postcards designed to improve attendance. The postcard designs provide examples from schools that address three misconceptions that parents of young students may hold.
