Jisuka Cohen is the associate dean of students at Graham Elementary and Middle School, in Columbus, Ohio. She earned her M.Ed in Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. Cohen started her career in the Southside of Chicago at Florence B. Price Writing Magnet School where she gained a love of collaborating with educators and families who had a desire to build up their school community giving students opportunities they had been missing out on for many years. She has been a middle school educator for 15 years, 11 of those years have been at GEMS/The Graham Family of Schools where she has held a variety of roles including; English and Social Studies teacher, Crew Leader, 9th Grade Transition Coordinator and Associate Dean of Students. Cohen is passionate about exploring the experiences of students and their success as they transition from middle to high school, building a strong school culture that connects students, staff and families, and restorative practices.
