21st Century Advancing Family Engagement (21stCAFE) is a virtual professional learning community for first or second-year grantees of 21st Century Community Learning Centers(21st CCLC). The 21stCAFE is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce with the Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center.Â
The purpose of 21stCAFE is to increase the expertise and aptitude of 21st Century program staff to implement high-quality family engagement strategies in Ohio’s 21st CCLC programs. Ultimately, this project would lead to improved family-program partnerships to support the needs of the whole child using a comprehensive approach, consistent with Ohio’s Whole Child Framework. 21stCAFE will bridge 21st CCLC programming between the school day and home life and provide benefits for both 21st Century program staff and students.Â
