Hassan Samantar is PACER Center’s Somali Project Coordinator and Multicultural Parent Advocate, Trainer and Parent Advisor. He conducts trainings for professionals; leads parent workshops; and provides individual assistance to families. He also works with parent centers in other Somali communities in greater Minnesota. Hassan has served on various state and local advisory committees in a community advisory capacity. He collaborates on multiple projects with State agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Minnesota Department of Human Services (MDHS), and with school districts and local universities. Most recently, he served as a member of the Department of Human Service’s Cultural and Ethnic Communities Leadership Council (CECLC), and he is a present member of the Minnesota-ADDM (MN Autism and Developmental Disability Monitoring Network) Advisory Board.
