Communication Examples: “Check-in” Surveys to Send All Families in a District

Example 1: In March 2020, Columbus City Schools sent a needs survey to all families and provided telephone hotlines to survey families in five languages other than English. The survey covered needs that families had including physical, emotional, and academic.

Example 2: After the first few days of eLearning, Hilliard City Schools sent an eLearning check-in survey to all families in their district, asking families to provide feedback about their experiences, engagement, and needs moving forward. It was simple, and improvement-focused.
