Ohio’s Wild Treasures Outreach Guide

Owl in tree

Ohio has many types of habitats to explore! A habitat is a place where an animal or plant normally lives. All good habitats have four parts: food, water, shelter, and space. Each habitat has its own special set of conditions that support the wild creatures and plants that are adapted to live there, such as tall trees in a forest or water in a wetland. Ohio is home to more than 1,000 species of wildlife.
